The installation of pumps is a task that is best entrusted to specialists. After all, mistakes made due to a lack of knowledge and skills can make the unit underpowered, cause repeated breakdowns, and even force you to replace the pump soon after installing it. Equally important, each type of pump requires a specific approach during installation. Ignoring this fact is also fraught with the fact that the unit will only work at a partial capacity.

To illustrate what we mean, we suggest exploring a few pump types and installation features that our plumbers consider when they install a well pump:

• SUBMERSIBLE PUMPS. The breakdown of the hermetic seal, which enables water into the chambers holding the electric motor, or damage to the electrical wires is a significant source of damage to these pumps. Hence, special care must be taken to preserve the electric wiring while organizing a submersible pump installation.
• JET PUMPS. Unlike submersible pumps, jet pumps require priming when being installed. Other specifics requiring attention include a poorly fitted suction line and drawing from too deep. These issues can cause jet pumps to malfunction. In addition, the suction line needs to be airtight for the pump to work as it should since it needs to generate pressure to get a shut-off point.
• TURBINE PUMPS. As in previous cases, it is better to contact well pump installers to install this pump. Since the system is complex, many important things must be considered. For example, the pump should be located beneath the liquid’s level and as close to the liquid source as possible. Also, it’s critical to use short, straight pipes, minimize the number of bends, and provide a large radius of curvature.
